Welcome! We are a group of atmospheric scientists in the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia. We use field campaign observations, satellite data, and cloud resolving models to study the physical processes controlling deep convection and heavy precipitation. We also use general circulation models of varying complexity to study the interactions between clouds/convection/precipitation and the large-scale atmospheric circulation across scales in the tropics, as well as Earth System Models at global and regional scales to improve our understanding of hydroclimatological changes in a warming world.
